Serving the Community for 46 years!

Our Mission

PONY Baseball seeks to implant in the youth of the community ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority. With a goal that they will be finer, stronger, and happier youths who will grow to be good, clean, and healthy adults. This objective will be reached by providing supervised competitive games. The supervisors shall bear in mind at all times that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary, and that the molding of future citizens is of prime importance.

Age Cutoffs - For Spring 2018

The program age for CY20178Spring Baseball is based on your child's age as of April 30th, 2018.

Please note: Maple Valley PONY Board of Directors has voted not to follow National PONY age change and has been approved to move forward with a bylaw to keep the age cut off the same.  This is based on the fact that it would result in approximately 35% of our players losing one year of baseball/fastpitch.  We will continue to review in the future, but no changes to our age key will be implemented in 2018 Season.

Girls - Softball Fast Pitch - Pinto (8U) - Mustang (10U) - Bronco(12U) - Pony (14U)

Baseball is open to both Boys and Girls

Shetland (6U): 4/5/6

Pinto (8U): 7/8

Mustang (10U): 9/10

Bronco (12U): 11/12

Pony (14U): 13/14

Colt (16U): 15/16

Palomino (18U): 17/18

Assessments to move up:  Please note that there are no move up options for Shetland age players to Pinto.  Also, players who wish to move from one division to another, must go through the assessment process.  Those  players assessing up, must rank in the top % of that division's pool of players (% is based on number of players in division).  Please reach out to your player's age appropriate Director for additional information before registering.  Full Refunds are not offered to players who do not assess up to the division they are wishing to move to, but our standard refund policy applies.

Bat Guidelines

Effective January 1, 2018, National PONY has implemented a new bat standard: Click HERE to see details.

The board has voted to create a bylaw to remain under the current standard until more information is available.  At this time, there is no compelling evidence that the new bat rules improve our current safety protocols.

While you are welcome to purchase new bats under the new standard, bats that meet the current 2017 standard (HERE), will be allowed for league play.  Please note PONY sanctioned tournaments will require the new standard to be enforced (this is specific to our MVP Tournament Teams who may play in Regional/National Events).

We do our best to communicate changes regarding bat rules.  Always check first prior to purchasing a new bat.  Often retailers will discount bats if they may become deactivated from approved lists.

How to verify if you have or are purchasing a legal bat:

  1. Check the Pony Rules
  2. Check National Rules to see pending and confirmed delisted bat
