2020 Fall Ball Cancelled

Hello all. It is with great sadness, and after much deliberation, that we must announce the cancellation of the Fall Ball season. There are two primary factors that led to this decision.

Firstly, due to a lack of satisfactory improvement in the pandemic conditions in Washington, on July 28 the governor paused any further progression in the phased re-opening plan. As of today, this pause is planned to continue indefinitely. So King County is still stuck in Phase 2. This means that outdoor recreation activities are limited to a maximum of five people. This by itself will prevent us from moving forward with Fall Ball. This was not unexpected, but still disappointing.

Secondly, at the close of registration we only had interest from a total of 63 players across four divisions. This was only enough for one team each in three divisions, and two teams in the fourth division. Combined with lower player interest in the other local leagues that we normally play against, we would not have been able to provide enough competition to have a meaningful schedule of games.

While this situation is very disappointing to all of us, we are hopeful that things will improve in time for us to get together next spring. As always, we remain committed to providing baseball and fastpitch programming when it is safe for our community. Please look for news about Spring Ball registration starting in November.
